Octave Dulude

Inducted into the NHTA Hall of Fame in 2020.

Octave Dulude was a fine gentleman trapper who was a friend to many. Octave did a considerable amount of volunteer work for the NH Trappers Association and is remembered each year when an award in his name (The NHTA Octave Dulude Award) is presented to a non-member individual or entity honored for service or support to the NHTA and the trapping community in New Hampshire.

The magazine Voice of the Trapper, which was published quarterly by the National Trappers Association featured Octave in their January 1984 issue cover; at a time when he was suffering with terminal cancer and yet still continued to trap. From this publication, a whole nation of trappers witnessed the fortitude and persistence of this very special individual.

Pictured at the right, Octave's wife was an accomplished amateur photographer and won a photo contest with this picture of her husband returning from a good day of trapping with eight beaver and three otter.
