Hope everyone is doing well. A few reminders for folks:

• NHTA Rendezvous August 22nd
• Get your permits filled out and signed for the upcoming season.
• If you will apply to trap State Land, send in your application to Fish and Game by August 17th.

In the coming months, it is time to start scouting for the animals you plan to trap in the fall, Look for tracks and scat. If you have a dog, take the dog for a walk and see what places interest the dog. Mark the spots where your dog urinates, this will be a good spot to set a canine trap.

Care of canine traps – I use Bridger #2 offsets. Traps are painted and then dipped with full metal jacket, and this allows for multiple seasons of use without the need to repeat the process.

Advanced notice – fur handling class in Epsom on December 12th. The class can accommodate 14 students, and registration will begin in November. This class is sponsored by the NHTA with no cost to students.
