With trapping season in full swing, please take the opportunity when processing fur to use as much of the animal as possible.

You can use the meat that you harvest to make bait and may be able to sell the bones, skull, and glands. Look for a market or use the glands to make your own lure. Many NHTA members have made their own lure and have had success in trapping additional animals.

If you do not dispose of carcasses on your own property, be sure to obtain landowner permission and complete disposal out of public view.

If you trap through the ice, carry ice picks and be sure your spud is tethered to you.

Beaver meat is a great meat to eat!!

Good Luck!
