Good luck to everyone hunting geese and bear, or bow hunting for deer and turkey in September!

Preparing your traps and scouting for the upcoming season in a couple of months should be a high priority.

For those that trap using any type of watercraft, now is the time to be sure all of your equipment and safety gear are in good condition and ready to go! Please be sure to wear your flotation device!

Update on Fur prices: after speaking with a NH fur buyer, reading 3 different publications with fur reports and watching fur reports on YouTube TV, it looks like the upcoming season will be good for selling fur. The prices for furbearers should be the same as last year or a few dollars higher. If you have the opportunity, trap mink, beaver, and skunks. If you plan to trap raccoons that are extra-large as well as coyotes that are fully primed and heavy are what the fur buyers are looking to purchase.

Advanced notice – fur handling class in Epsom on December 12th. The class can accommodate 14 students and registration will begin in November. The class is sponsored by the NHTA with no cost to the students.

The 2026-2027 season is a good time to get back out on the trapline!
