We had another successful legislative session season with minimal impact to trapping activities in NH. We’re thankful for the current makeup of our legislative body (in both the House & Senate), who, for the most part, recognizes the regulated use and harvest of natural resources within the state’s borders. The NHTA continues to work diligently, year over year, with both our NH Fish and Game Department, as well as our local legislative body, to ensure regulated hunting and trapping continues to be a cornerstone of hands-on conservation endeavors into the future. Our strength with communication and outreach, lies squarely with our membership and their voices, to ensure these values continue to be adequately expressed with our lawmakers. Whether it’s through presence at public hearings, corresponding with YOUR state representatives & commissioners, or passing along information to your constituents when a need for outreach is expressed; our continued collective attention is imperative. Government goes to those who show up – those who vote, pay attention to legislative proposals, and speak up when the need to do so arises. If at any time you wish to be informed about current legislative proposals that may impact your pursuits afield, the NHTA Board implores all members to attend our monthly meetings, or contact your county director for more info. Happy New Year members!”
